Brigham Young University Museum of Art UP: The First 100 Years: Collecting Art at BYU tells the remarkable story of the development of the university art collection through the display of 150 of the outstanding works that have been acquired over the past century. Through September 25. AND: As the Rose, sculpture by Adam Bateman in the MOA Sculpture Garden. Created from farm sprinkler components, Bateman’s sculptures evoke the storied relationship Utahns have with their desert landscape, from early Pioneer use of irrigation systems and their yearning to make the desert “blossom as a rose,” to a more modern look at conservation and the link of the traditional sublime landscape to Modernism. Through October 16. AND: Bill Owens: Suburbia, a sly photographic study through 65 black and white photographs of suburban life in the 1970s—the second generation of the post-war suburban movement. Through December 4. UPCOMING: James Tissot: The life of Christ showcases 124 watercolors from the Brooklyn Museum's collection of 19th-century New Testament illustrations by French artist James Tissot. June 18 - January 9, 2011.

Woodbury Art Museum UPCOMING: Art of Our Century, a competion exhibition with works of art engaging the aesthetic dialogue of today. June 11-July 23.
Springville Museum of Art UP: 86th Annual Spring Salon. This year 218 works were selected from a total of 1064 submitted. Through July 3.
The Downtown Provo Gallery Stroll occurs the first Friday of every month from 6-9pm as part of the First Fridays Provo Gallery Stroll. The event is free and open to the public.
Covey Center for the Arts UP: A Makers Life: Work by Doug Stout. A body of work created throughout Stout's career featuring art and turnings, furniture and product design. Through June 12.
Terra Nova UP: Untitled exhibit featuring pastel work created by 4 different artists. Through June 25.

CEDAR CITY
Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery UP: Large Format Photography, works by students who construct color images with only black and white materials and also create images using only a single color. Through August 31.
ST. GEORGE AREA
The St. George Summer Gallery Walk, featuring 10 stops, will occur on Main Street on Friday June 11th, 6 - 9 pm and is open to the public.
St. George Art Museum UP: An American Original, Margaret Lefranc, 50 Years of Watercolors. Organized by the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in cooperation with the Margaret Lefranc Art Foundation, the exhibition includes 45 works dating from 1934 to 1996. Lefranc's achievements include work in painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration and writing, it is her watercolors that trace a fascinating journey through American modernism and the American scene. Through July 10. AND: Upside Down, an installation by Kathy Cieslewicz. Through July 10. AND: Jim Jones Recent Paintings, recent paintings inspired by Southern Utah by the late artist (1933 - 2009). Sears Art Gallery UP: J Kirk Richards. Figurative artist Richards showcases work with spiritual ideas and narratives. His paintings exhibit a love for the human figure, general use of symbolism and metaphor, and an emphasis on lyric composition. Through August 13.
