ART BARN/FINCH LANE GALLERY UP: A mixed media installation by Anna Campbell Bliss and works by four ceramists–Stephanie Craig, Todd Leech, Chris Longwell and Jared Ward– in the Finch Lane Gallery; paintings by Chelsea James will be exhibited in the Park Gallery. Through September 11.

Anna Campbell Bliss's career has spanned decades, earning accolades and critical acclaim. For this exhibit, Bliss is addressing both art and architecture, through an abstract tradition of painting and printing, expanding into three-dimensional concepts, computer generated screens and laser etching.|above| Bliss, who has been both artist and architect, says her work seeks to "make connections: between nature and the constructed environment; the intuitive and predetermined process; poetry and math; and between the computer and the great tradition of artistic experimentation."

Ceramic artists Stephanie Craig, Todd Leech, Chris Longwell and Jared Ward, all graduates of the MFA program at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania who have continued to exhibit together regularly, have named their exhibit Stimulus.|1| The work ranges from Craig's large-scale "ambiguous" fossils, to Leech's large modular sculptures, to Longwell's functional porcelain and stoneware pottery and to Ward's sculptural objects with roots in functional pottery.

Chelsea James’ Park Gallery exhibit will feature small studies painted from interior spaces and larger paintings created from drawings and studies. She uses latex and oil paint and a variety of unconventional tools.|0|
