WHY ARTISTS OF UTAH?
There are many good causes out there, and in these difficult economic times most are struggling to meet their financial needs in order to continue providing their programming to the public. Though we know you feel the arts are important, we also know there are more important causes calling for your attention -- like caring for the sick and the homeless or reaching out to endangered children and underserved population.
We're not asking you to forego those worthy causes. But in your charitable giving consider reserving 10% for the arts and cultural endeavors.
So, why give to Artists of Utah?
Only you can best answer that, but we'd like to suggest a few reasons.
The coverage of the visual arts in our local papers is diminishing month by month while 15 Bytes continues to expand, providing video and audio coverage in addition to its longstanding tradition of superb writing and stunning visuals.
Since 2003, our message board has provided up-to-date, online notices about opportunities in the visual art world. Every week we post a dozen or more notices about employment opportunities, art talks, workshops, calls for entry and more.
Our directores of artists and art organizations gives you access to all aspects of Utah's visual arts world, in every corner of the state.
It's YOUR art organization. We don't have an endowment. We are aren't funded by the state.We only survive because we receive contributions from individuals like you. That means you have a voice. We have to give you what you need in order to receive your support and continue operating.
So, if we've been giving you what you need, please give us your support. If you need something else let your voice be heard? Send us a contribution and tell us what you'd like to see us do.
