WE NEED TO RAISE $5000
15 Bytes :: A Community Publication

15 Bytes is a community publication; not only because the volunteer writers and photographers who contribute to it come from the community and are writing about their community, but also because the minimal costs that 15 Bytes does incur -- editing, layout, design and webhosting -- are provided for by generous contributions from members of the community.

15 Bytes :: Free to Everyone

Every six months we ask the subscribers of 15 Bytes to help us to cover our financial costs. This allows Artists of Utah to bring 15 Bytes to everyone free of charge. Our philosophy is, if you can help please do, and if you can't then please continue to read and involve yourself in our community and make a financial contribution when you can.

15 Bytes :: Come So Far

Since its inception in the fall of 2001, 15 Bytes has evolved from a small, three-page ezine published every six weeks and principally covering the Salt Lake area to a statewide publication, generally 9 or 10 pages, with articles on every type of art in every corner of the state. Our readership increases every month (in the past six months alone our subscription rate has gone up 30%), we are continually adding new writers and contributors and are covering more and more of art from all over the state.

15 Bytes :: So Far to Go

People keep telling us to slow down, to enjoy what we've accomplished. But that's not the way we work. We are eager to continue pushing the size and quality of our publication. And we'd also like to expand the type of content to include audio and video input. Imagine a "Studio Space" column that was a 15 minute video in addition to still photography. Or that we could bring video coverage of an installation piece in Ogden to viewers in Moab. Our interviews could be inhanced by selected audio segments. The web provides wonderful tools and we'd like to use them all because our community deserves it.

15 Bytes :: We Need Your Support

To make this happen and continue publishing 15 Bytes for the next six months we need your financial support. We need to raise $5000 over the next four weeks to cover our costs.
